Concept
Domestic scale, Street activation, Context awareness

The building presents itself as a carefully composed urban insertion, negotiating between compact density and a refined domestic scale. Its architecture is defined by the contrast between two complementary volumes: a taller, white rendered body, sculpted through setbacks and recessed balconies, and a lower brick volume that anchors the project to the street through a more tactile and mineral expression.

The white volume is dynamic and vertical, shaped by oblique planes, deep reveals, and a rhythmic distribution of openings. Its recessed loggias, treated with warm-toned interiors, introduce depth and shadow, softening the overall mass while giving the façade a more inhabited character. In contrast, the brick volume offers stability and continuity, evoking the material memory of the city and establishing a grounded relationship with the public realm.

At ground level, the transparent commercial frontage activates the street, while the landscaping and raised planters create a gradual transition between sidewalk and building. The project balances solidity and openness, mass and lightness, urban presence and residential intimacy. Overall, it proposes a contemporary architectural language that remains contextually aware, expressive without becoming aggressive, and capable of contributing positively to the evolving fabric of Bucharest.
