The restoration project for the Maior Coravu Pool (Lia Manoliu Complex, 1968) bridges historical memory and modernity. The architectural solution pays homage to the facades' original mosaic through rhomboidal zinc panels, whose macro size symbolizes the contemporary transition.
The material dialogue between zinc, aquatic-specific hues, and beige fiber-cement panels carefully shapes a modern sports campus. Technically and aesthetically, the intervention's centerpiece is the Olympic pool's new skylight; its complex origami-inspired geometry acts as a major visual landmark, optimizing natural daylight and revitalizing the entire complex's architectural identity.
