The project envisions the development of a fully integrated professional campus situated within the Baia Sprie Industrial Park, Maramureș, designed to pilot a comprehensive dual education pathway. Serving as a spatial catalyst for innovation and smart specialization, the design aims to seamlessly bridge the gap between academia and the regional economic fabric.
The built environment is tailored to prepare students for the demands of Industry 4.0, integrating spatial flexibility to accommodate digitalized, dynamic, and highly automated production systems.
The campus features a highly articulated infrastructure: a central educational core (serving both high school and university levels), six residential pavilions for students and teaching staff, a swimming pool, an indoor sports hall, outdoor athletic fields, and generous landscaped recreational areas.
Backed by a regional consortium that includes multinational stakeholders, the campus is programmed to cultivate a highly skilled workforce in cutting-edge fields such as mechatronics, sensor technology, and integrated industrial programming.
Despite the regional developmental gaps, the industrial sector remains the fundamental economic driver for Maramureș, holding the highest potential for future value generation. Through this architectural and educational intervention, the project seeks to mitigate intra-regional disparities, transforming Maramureș into a polarizing educational hub that also serves the adjacent communities of Sălaj, Bistrița-Năsăud, and Satu Mare.
